ZDx is a new company. The problems we’re solving aren’t new to us.
This is going to sound boastful, but it’s the truth. On the client sites where we’ve worked, we’ve been asked by name by Site Heads, Directors and VPs to stay on projects longer or to bring in more people “just like you”.
We’ve progressed quickly throughout our careers, both on client sites and within previous firms, because of how we approach the work. We come with solutions, not just problems; practical experience, not just theory.
We can go from crawling through an interstitial space trying to understand what’s actually happening on the ground, to sitting in a meeting with senior leadership explaining the problem, the impact and the solution in terms everyone can understand.
That approach has built trust and relationships across the world. We’ve been asked back to projects, recommended to others and trusted with increasingly complex problems.
But doing the work was only ever part of it.
When it was time for us to move on, we wanted to leave something useful behind: people we’d trained, processes we’d improved and systems that could continue working long after we’d gone.
Over the years, we also started seeing the same challenges come up again and again.
Companies struggling to find the right people. Good people struggling to find the right companies. Projects that needed experienced support. Valuable knowledge sitting in people’s heads rather than being passed on. Investors and businesses trying to understand what they were really buying, building or investing in.
Eventually, the question became:
Can we do something useful about it?
That’s where ZDx started.
Who We Are
This business isn’t about putting the founders at the forefront or claiming that our way is the only way.
But understanding where we’ve come from helps explain why ZDx exists and why we offer the services we do.
Between us, we have 20 years’ experience in the Life Sciences industry. We’ve worked across a wide range of roles including Validation Engineer, QA Analyst, Project Manager, Scheduler, Filling Line Specialist, Training Coordinator, Proposal Writer, Engineering Lead and Director, to name a few.
We’ve worked across engineering, quality, manufacturing, operations, project delivery and business leadership. We’ve worked on different sites, with different companies, in different countries and with people at every level of an organisation.
We’ve seen our fair share over the years. We’ve also had the opportunity to solve some genuinely interesting problems — as anyone who has spent enough time in these industries can probably relate to.
We met through work. Both entrepreneurially minded in our own right, we were working on separate projects, seeing different problems and regularly talking about how things could be done better.
Like most businesses, ZDx was a slow burn.
A conversation here and there.
“I figured this out.”
“There has to be a better way to do this.”
“Why doesn’t somebody offer that?”
Then, one very unmagical day, we looked at each other and said:
“Let’s just start it.”
And we did.
We don’t believe in sitting around endlessly thinking about a problem. We believe in action.
You learn by doing.
We like getting our hands dirty. We like being in the middle of the problem, understanding what’s actually happening and working with the people involved to find a practical way forward.

So, Why Does ZDx Exist?
When we looked back at the roadblocks and problems we’d experienced throughout our careers, we kept seeing the same things:
- Companies struggling to find people.
- People struggling to find companies.
- Projects that need experienced support.
- Investors and businesses trying to understand industries, facilities and opportunities they’re putting significant money into.
- Professionals who want to learn but don’t always have access to good, practical training.
- Organisations with valuable knowledge that isn’t always being captured or passed on.
We kept coming back to the same question:
Can we do something useful about this?
Because if we’re going to complain that something could be done better, we’d better be willing to have a go at doing it better ourselves.
That’s why we started ZDx.
And that’s why these services sit together.

We don’t have everything ready today.

There is always another problem to solve and something new to learn.
